Tony Blair should not send British forces into the Baghdad area. That is the view of Richard Allanach the Liberal Democrat's prospective parliamentary candidate for Rugby & Kenilworth.

"We should not be sucked further into the chaos President Bush has created in Iraq" he says.

Richard Allanach added "There are three very good reasons why British troops should not be sent to the Baghdad area.

"First it would expose our forces to further danger.

Secondly it would release US forces for an attack on Fallujah. Fallujah has already been the scene of much bloodshed. More civilians would inevitably die if the Americans had extra troops to attack it.

Thirdly British forces in the Baghdad area would be under US command, and the Americans practice different tactics from British forces. The American approach appears to be far more casual with civilian lives than the British approach."
