Recycling & Refuse Collection in Warwick District

5.58.20pm GMT Tue 29th Jan 2008

The Conservatives have made a big song and dance about it, but in many respects they are only implementing plans originally drawn up by the previous Lib Dem/Labour administration on the district council.

District councillor Ann Blacklock (Kenilworth Abbey) says: "Liberal Democrats have always been the strongest advocates of green policies like recycling, so of course we welcome the new scheme.

The key issue now is how well the new scheme is introduced and managed. As a responsible opposition on the council we shall be monitoring the situation very carefully."
