County Councillor John Whitehouse (Kenilworth Abbey) has won changes to the rules at the recycling centres, but says they still discriminate against most 4x4 pick-up drivers. A voucher system has been introduced, but only for households with only one vehicle.

So, if you've got a 4x4 pick-up and a small second car, you can't go to the tip in the pick-up at all, but you can go in the car as many times as you like.

John says: "I thought we were supposed to be encouraging recycling! It's what people take to the tip that matters most, not what vehicle they're in."
