Local Lib Dems around Southam have organised a Public Meeting for residents to discuss the potential impact of the High Speed Rail Route.

The meeting will take place in the Grange Hall in Southam at 7:15pm on Thursday 1 April. If you wish to help raise the profile of this issue please email HSRcampaign@kandslibdems.org.uk.

People are contacting Nigel Rock and the Lib Dems daily from different towns and villages across the constituency. We need to combine our efforts because we all face the same threat. The proposed high-speed rail route has 20% of its length between the conurbations of London and Birmingham in Kenilworth and Southam constituency. It crosses it from Wormleighton and Ladbroke in the south east to Burton Green in the north west. The route cuts the new parliamentary constituency in two. We need to make it clear, as early as we can, that we will actively protect our communities. Nigel says "The people I speak to support the idea of a much improved rail network with shorter journey times, but this mega highspeed route is not the right solution for us."
